Lima Locos fall short against Xenia Scouts

XENIA — A Lima Locos rally from an 8-4 deficit fell short as the host Scouts won Wednesday night’s Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League game 8-7.

Lima plated the first run in the top of the first and then added three more in the third before Xenia evened the score in the bottom of the third and then scored three times in the fifth and added another run in the bottom of the sixth for an 8-4 advantage. The Locos moved to within one with three runs in the eighth but were unable to plate anymore runs.

Cade Beloso (LSU) and Anthony Amicangelo (Johnson County CC) each had two hits and an RBI and Mark Castelblanco (Georgia Gwinnet College) had a triple and two RBI for Lima.

The Locos fall to 2-2 on the season and will play their home opener at 7:05 Thursday night against Grand Lake at Simmons Field.

Parking information

Attendees of the Lima Locos games may have to change where they park because of the construction of an underground water tank at Simmons Field.

The city has worked with the sports team to make parking available at Safety City, 700 S. Collett St., the Central Services Building, 900 S. Collett St., and the tennis courts on Collett. The Regional Transport Authority will be providing transport before and after games to and from these locations.
