ARCHERY

Allen County Archers

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, have monthly shoots planned. A traditional shoot is held the third Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For details, call Neil Wallace at 567-825-7109.

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, will be holding 30 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday each month through September. These are open to all.

BASEBALL

Lima

Bath baseball is having its annual “Best of the Northwest” youth tournament June 8-10. This is a school team tournament (all players must be from the same school district). Twelve teams accepted for each division (first 12 teams paid in each division). There will be a12u, 10u and 8u coach pitch divisions. The cost for the 12u & 10u divisions will be $250 with a three-game guarantee. The cost for the8u coach pitch division will be $200 with a three-game guarantee. Tickets are on sale for a bus trip to the Cincinnati Reds against San Francisco on Aug. 18 to benefit the Flag City Honor. The cost is $75 and must be paid in full by July 18. CYCLING

Lima

Team Roadrunners, a local nonprofit bicycling club, will sponsor the Limaland Bicycle Tour on the morning of Saturday, June 16, beginning at the “UAW Local 1219 Park,” 1750 Bible Road in Lima. Three routes are available: 25 miles ($10 individual pre-registered,$25 family pre-registered) with refreshments and rest stops on the road; 40 and 65 miles ($20 individual pre-registered) with refreshments, rest stops on the road and lunch afterwards. All pre-registered riders by June 5 receive a free T-shirt (25-mile family pre-registrations receive two free t-shirts). After June 5 and day-of-event registrations are available, but increase $5 for all categories with no T-shirts. Routes are on low traffic country roads with maps, painted road markings, and sag/mechanic support. A portion of the proceeds support Wheelhouse Bike Ministry. The Delphos Country Club will be hosting a Big Hole Tournament on Saturday, May 19, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Four-person teams will compete in scramble format. The 2018 Lima City Golf Men’s Tournament will take place June 20-24 at courses throughout the Lima area. The tournament will open Wednesday, June 20, for the Senior Flights and Open Flight qualifying rounds Thursday, June 21, begin the Championship Flight with two rounds of play. The Senior Flights and Open Flights will begin match play. Final arrangements are still being made with the area courses for scheduling purposes with those details being released at a later time. Van Wert

The 23rd annual Van Wert City/County DARE Golf Outing will be held at the Hickory Sticks Golf Course today with a shot gun start at 9 a.m. The rain date for the tournament is May 20. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge will be hosting the outing again this year for DARE. The cost to golf in the tournament is $6 per man. This includes golf, cart, door prizes and lunch. The Leipsic Athletic Boosters golf outing will be held at 1 p.m. June 9 at Pike Run. Four-man scramble, supper included. $60 per golfer or $240 per team. The Lima Senior Golf Program and the Spread Jada’s Joy project are teaming up to host a four-person golf scramble June 3, at Colonial Golf Club, 10985 Harding Highway. The shotgun start begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $60 a person or $240 a team. This includes lunch, cart and green fees. There will also be a 50/50 drawing, and skins and mulligan chances to win. A 2018 Toyota Camry is up for grabs at one hole if someone hits a hole-in-one. This is thanks to Allan Nott Honda and Toyota. The golf scramble will benefit the Lima Senior golf team and Spread Jada’s Joy, a DECA project to raise awareness of Down syndrome and raise money for programs that assist families.

Harrod

The Lafayette Jackson Historical Society is holding a fundraiser at 1:30 p.m. June 2 at Colonial Hills Golf Course, 10985 Harding Highway. Cost is $260 per team which includes cart and dinner.

The Walter Potts Classic fundraiser for the Bradfield Community Center will be held June 22 at Colonial Golfers Club. Registration will be from 8 a.m. until 8:50 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry is $60 for individuals and $240 for four-person teams, which includes golf, dinner, door prizes and two beverage tickets. Cost for dinner only is $15. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team, highest team score, men’s and women’s longest drives, closest to the pin, longest putt made and holes-in-one (up to four). The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C Street, have openings in leagues and doubles.

RUN/WALK

Lima Senior High School will play host to the inaugural community-wide My School Color Run at 8 a.m. May 19, to raise money for the school’s cheerleading program. The My School Color Run is an untimed 3-mile fun run for all ages and fitness abilities. Along the route, participants pass through vibrant color zones, making it a “colorful experience.” Additionally, each pre-registered participant is provided with a single powder color packet that will be thrown in the air at the final color celebration at the finish line.
