Racing gets underway at Limaland

LIMA — No. 17 Jared Horstman grabbed the victory in the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invader feature, David Stremme won the K&N Filters UMP Modified A Main and Daniel Sanchez picked up the Budweiser Thunderstock feature win in the first racing this year Friday night at Limaland Motorsports Park..

Starting off the night were the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders in their 25 lap A Main. Horstman in the family owned No. 17 would charged to the front and started to leave the field. A caution failed to prevent Horstman from picking up the win over No. 77 Zane Devault, No. 28 Phil Gressman, No. 23 Devon Dobie, and No. 11 Tim Allison. Heat races were won by No. 16B Steve Irwin, Gressman and Dobie.

Next up were the K&N Filters UMP Modifieds in a20 lap feature. No. 27 Frank Paladino and No. 16 Jeff Koz made up the front row as the green flag flew with Koz grabbing the lead. Koz would lead the first 12 laps until the yellow flag would fly for No. 4L Mike Learman spinning exiting turn 2.

After leading the first 12 laps, No. 16 Jeff Koz was challenged on the restart immediately following a caution by No. 24 Justin Haley, but Haley had jumped the restart, resulting in him being docked docked two spots at the finish. No. 35 David Stremme battled Koz the next couple laps before making the pass. Stremme would be credited with the win with No. 21 Taylor Cook charging from eighth to second, Haley would be scored third, with Koz fourth and No. 3W Dylan Woodling completing the top 5. Heat races were won by No. 162 Logan Moody, No. 18 Ryan Sutter, Haley and No. 1 Bendan Rassel.

Closing out the night were the Budweiser Thunderstocks in a 15 lap feature. No. 463 Daniel Sanchez would lead the field to green along side No. 99 Andy King, with

No. 463 Daniel Sanchez grabbed the early lead and went on to victory followed by No. 26 Justin Long, No. 22T Tony Anderson, No. 27 Frank Paladino, and No. 7 Dan Wooten. Heat races were won by Anderson and Long.

WAYNESFIELD — Due cool temperatures expected Saturday night, raceway officials decided to cancel the Spring Fling racing program.
