LIMA — The Lima Senior High School Athletic Department announced Tuesday that it has established a Hall of Fame and is accepting nominations.
The Lima City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame will honor teams, athletes, coaches and contributors from Lima Senior, Central High School and South High School.
“The Lima City Schools has such a rich history of successful athletes, teams and coaches,” Athletic Director John Zell said in a news release. “It is long overdue time to recognize these great men and women, both for what they accomplished while here and what they went on to do in the world of sports.”
Here is the criteria for nomination:
Athlete: An athlete may be eligible for nomination into the Lima City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame four years following graduation from Lima City Schools.
Team: A team may be eligible for nomination to the Lima City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame after four years.
Coach: A coach may be eligible for nomination after four years of no longer coaching for the Lima City Schools.
Sports contributor: A sports contributor is eligible for a nomination as an individual or group who has helped to develop and foster the growth of athletics in the Lima City Schools athletic community.
