LIMA — After a month of rainouts, Limaland Motorsports Park finally beat Mother Nature with a full FAST Friday night presented by Homeland Technology Group. The JLH General Contractors FAST 305 series invaded the high banks of Limaland, with Jordan Ryan picking up the win. In the K&N Filters UMP Modifieds, it was Michael Tarlton grabbing his first career feature win, and the Bud Thunderstock feature was won by Bob Daugherty.
Kicking off the night were the Bud Thunderstocks in the McDonald’s Dash for Cash with the No. 99 of Andy King winning $100 and a hood plaque.
In feature action, the JLH General Contractors FAST 305 Sprints started the evening, It took three tries to get the feature started with red flags marring the initial tries at the start for Luke Daugherty and Landon LaLonde, and the second red for Nate Dussel and Steve Rando. All drivers were OK, and the feature finally got rolling. Caleb Griffith and Ricky Peterson would led the field to the green and traded the lead back and forth for several laps with John Ivy beginning his march from the 10th position. With laps winding down, Griffith cut a right rear tire which ended his race. As the leaders got into heavy lapped traffic, Ivy made a move on the leaders and headed to the point, however, the No. 77i failed post race tech inspection, handing the win to Ryan.
Next up were the K&N Filters UMP Modified in a 20 lap A Main. The opening laps saw Tarlton and Andy Bibler lead the field to green. Bibler grabbed the point, but Jerry Bowersock took the lead on lap 2. The racing up front stayed close between the top 5 until Tarlton made his charge on lap 6 to grab second, then went into the lead on lap 8, utilizing the high side of the racetrack. Tarlton earned his first career feature win.
Closing out the night were the Budweiser Thunderstocks in a 15 lap feature event. Keith Shockency and Justin Long brought the field to green with Long getting to the front first. Bob Daugherty powered to second briefly before Chris Douglas grabbed the second spot on lap 3. Daugherty got past Douglas on lap 6 and began stalking Long for the lead. Cautions on laps 7 and 8 kept the field bunched up, but Long was able to hold the point on each restart. Daugherty made a move to the inside for the lead in turns 3 and 4 coming to the white flag. Long got loose, allowing Daugherty to get away and pick up the win.
