ARCHERY

Allen County Archers

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, have monthly shoots planned. A traditional shoot is held the third Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Two day shooting events will be held the first Saturday and Sunday of every month through September. Columbus Grove

The Columbus Grove Archers will have the indoor traditional shoots at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesdays all winter. The Columbus Grove Archers will also be holding Thursday competition at 7 p.m.

St. Marys

The St. Marys Baseball Association will again be hosting the Father’s Day Classic baseball tournament. This will be held June 16-18 at KC Geiger Park in St. Marys. There will be four separate divisions: 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U, with awards for each division. Teams are guaranteed three games. Entry fee is $225. Delphos

The eighth annual Nathan Miller Memorial Baseball Tournament will be June 2-4 at the Delphos Stadium Park. The tournament is a 16-20 team competition for boys ages 11-12 years old (age cutoff is April 1). The tournament will be pool play with a three-game guarantee. Bath

The Bath Parents Sports Club is having its annual “Best of the Northwest” youth baseball tournament June 9-11. There will be a 12U, 10U and 8U coach pitch division. BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Lima

Registration is currently being held for the Lima Family YMCA baseball programs (T-ball, 4-5 years old and coach pitch (6-8 year olds) until May 21 at the Lima Family YMCA. The fee is $25 for YMCA members and $50 for non members. Games begin June 20.

BASKETBALL

Lima

Travel Basketball teams for this summer are now forming for Boys and Girls ages 9-17. Gunners Elite Basketball Club are holding tryouts will be held over the next several weeks. Please call 567-712-7175 or go to ApexSportsZone.com for more information.

Lima

The Lima YMCA men’s basketball league will be registering teams and individuals from May 1-24. The league is limited to eight teams only. Team’s must pay $500 fee at the time of registration.

Lima

The Lima YMCA summer basketball league for grades 1-4 will be registering players from May 1 – 29. The first and second grade league will play from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and the third and fourth grade league will play from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays. The fee is $25 for members and $50 for non members. Games begin June 20.

CYCLING

Limaland Bicycle Tour

Team Roadrunners, a local non-profit bicycling club, will sponsor the Limaland Bicycle Tour on the morning of June 17 beginning at Ottawa Metro Park, 2632 Ada Road in Lima. Three routes are available: 25 miles ($10 individual pre-registered, $25 family pre-registered) with refreshments and rest stops on the road; 40 and 65 miles ($20 individual pre-registered) with refreshments, rest stops on the road and lunch afterwards. All pre-registered riders by June 5th receive a free t-shirt (25-mile family pre-registrations receive two free T-shirts). After June 5th and day-of-event registrations are available, but increase $5 for all categories with no T-shirts. Routes are on low traffic country roads with maps, painted road markings, and sag/mechanic support. A portion of the proceeds support Wheelhouse Bike Ministry. DISC GOLF

The City of Findlay Recreation Department is hosting several disc golf clinics at Firestine Park, nine-hole disc golf course at 900 Fifth St., Findlay. The clinics are being held from 6-7 p.m. Thursdays May 18 and June 1 The event is free and equipment will be provided. No registration is required. Simply show up and learn how to play. FOOTBALL

Lima

U.S. Plastics Corp. and District 8 Fellowship of Christian Athletes presents the third annual Legends of Northwest Ohio Youth Football Camp on July 8 at Elida Football Stadium (Elida Fieldhouse in case of rain). The camp is free and runs from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Students ages 8-13 are invited to attend. Instructors are local high school coaches, college and NFL players. GOLF

Lima

The 2017 Lima City Golf Men’s Tournament will take place June 21-25 at courses throughout the Lima area. The tournament will open Wednesday, June 21, for the Senior Flights at Colonial Golfers Club and the Open Flight will begin qualifying rounds at Hidden Creek. Thursday, June 22, begins the Championship Flight at Hidden Creek with two rounds of play. The Senior Flights will play Bluffton while the Open Flights will play at the Oaks which comes aboard for the 2017 tournament. All flights will play at Shawnee Country Club from June 23 through June 25. Online registration and additional details will soon be available at limacitygolf.com.

Van Wert

VAN WERT — The Van Wert City/County DARE Team will hold its 22nd annual Golf Outing at 9 a.m. May 13 at Hickory Sticks Golf Course in Van Wert. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund DARE schooling in Van Wert. This education includes a discussion on the hazardous effects of drugs, alcohol and violence, among other topics. Hole sponsors are still needed. For $100, a company or individual name will be placed on a sign and posted on one of the holes on the golf course. The tournament costs $60 per person for a four-man team. It includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch and door prizes. The tournament is limited to 36 teams. Delphos

The Delphos Country Club will be hosting a Big Hole Tournament on May 20 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Four-person teams will compete in scramble format. The Shawnee Football Indian Classic Golf Outing will be held at Tamarac Golf Course at 1pm on June 9. It is a four-man scramble with a shotgun start. The fee is $70 per golfer or $280 per team. LACROSSE

Findlay

The City of Findlay Recreation Department is starting an in-house youth lacrosse league for this spring. The US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model (LADM) will be used to teach the right lacrosse at the right time. The league is for boys and girls ages 4-18. Practices are being held Tuesday and Thursday nights through June 1. All practices take place at Emory Adams Park on the east side, across the foot bridge. Participants ages 7-18 will have to wear required lacrosse equipment during all practices and scrimmages. PICKLEBALL

Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima

The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday (appointment only). Free for YMCA members and $3 per visit for nonmembers or $20 per month for non members (unlimited play). Individuals can register online at limaymca.net.

Delphos

The fifth annual Organ Donor Dash 5K will be held April 30 at Delphos Jefferson High School. Race day registration begins at noon with the run/walk taking off at 1:08 p.m. Special recognition for organ donors/families and recipients after the event. The Marsh Foundation is hosting a “Run to End Child Abuse” 5K at 10 a.m. April 29, at The Marsh Foundation, 1229 Lincoln Highway, Van Wert. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., fun run begins at 9:30 a.m. and 5K begins at 10 a.m. Registration will be held at the recreation hall on the northeast side of campus. Lima

The YMCA is offering a swimming stroke clinic at the YMCA’s pool, until May 25. Join the YMCA’s trained and experienced coaches as they will offer valuable coaching tips to help children of all ages improve their swimming from skills in all strokes. Emphasis will be placed on proper technique for all strokes, starts and turns. The stroke clinic does not replace swim lessons.
