Lima Locos drop regular season finale to Lake Erie, 6-3

FLAT ROCK – The Lima Locos wrapped up the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL) season with a 6-3 loss to Lake Erie at Flat Rock Park Sunday.

The Locos, winners of the GLSCL North Divison, finish out the regular season with a 28-13 mark. Lake Erie ends its year with a 17-25 mark.

In the loss, Jason Sullivan (Central Michigan) had two hits and drove in one run. Jared Nixon (Alabama-Birmingham) also drove in a run, and Jacob Barnwell (Ohio State) had a hit and scored a run. Daino Deas II collected a hit and scored a run.

Locos starter Brad Croy (Bowling Green) took the loss. The Ottawa-Glandorf product gave up six hits and three runs over three innings of work. He struck out four and walked one in three innings of work.

For the season Sullivan led the team lead in RBI with 26. Sullivan led the team in hits with 47.

In the pitching department, Connor Curlis (Ohio State) had a brilliant season as he went 6-0 with 39 strike outs and an ERA of 1.06. Curlis tied for the league lead in wins and finished in ERA. Ben Havel of the Hamilton Joes had an ERA of 1.05.

Locos Jeremy Johnson (Auburn) finished second in the league with an average of .368.

The Locos return to action Wednesday in the first round of the playoffs. The opponent will be decided on Tuesday night. It is a best of three series and if a game three is necessary the Locos will play on Friday.
