Waynesfield Raceway’s 13th season kicks off Saturday

WAYNESFIELD — Waynesfield Raceway Park, celebrating 13 years of racing this season, is set to open the gates for the first time in 2016 Saturday night.

The 13th season will see the return of all five weekly classes, two of which have undergone name changes for the new season. Satellite Connections has signed on to be the premiere sponsor of the Non Wing sprint cars. Longtime supporter turned premier sponsor Quest Federal Credit Union has also signed on to be the class sponsor of the UMP Modifieds for 2016. Performance Powder Coating, Block Insurance, and Indian Lake Outfitters all return as headlining sponsors for Waynesfield’s 13th season.

Saturday’s season opener will see a full program of racing from the Satellite Connections Non Wing Sprint Cars, Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints, Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modifieds, Block Insurance Tough Trucks, and the Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts. Pit gates open at 4 p.m.; grandstands at 5 p.m.. Cars hit the racing surface for hot laps at 6 p.m. with the first green flag of 2016 following at 7 p.m.. Adult general admission is $12, those ages 11-15 are admitted for $6 and anyone under the age of 10 is admitted for free. Pit admission is $25.
