Locos will play Hamilton after Joes win in 11 innings

The Lima Locos will open the championship series of the Great Lakes Collegiate League tonight at Simmons field against the Hamilton Joes at 7 p.m. at Simmons Field.

The best of three series will continue at 7 p.m. Monday in Hamilton. And if a third game is necessary to decide the championship, it would be played at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Simmons Field.

Hamilton defeated the Xenia Scouts 6-5 in 11 innings on Saturday night to advance to the championship round. Chad Jacobs singled to lead off the eleventh and eventually scored on a single by Hunter Owens to end the game.

The Locos will take a 30-7 record into the decisive series. Hamilton is 26-12 this summer.
