Locos get rain-shorted 3-1 decision over Cincinnati

CELINA — The Lima Locos were scheduled to play a doubleheader but ended up getting one win in a rain-shortened game when they beat the Cincinnati Steam 3-1 in 4 1/2 innings on Sunday at Montgomery Field.

The Locos scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and the game was called in the middle of the fifth inning because of bad weather.

Nick Eltzroth got the win for the Locos. He allowed four hits and one run in five innings.

Mitchell Carriger had two hits and Billy Lipari drove in two runs for Lima.

The game was a home game for the Locos but was moved to Celina because of the artificial turf at Montgomery Field. Tonight’s game against the Southern Ohio Copperheads has also been moved to Montgomery Field with a starting time of 7:05 p.m.
