Men’s city golf, AMA races will try again today

The Lima City Men’s Golf Championship semifinals, which were postponed because of rain on Saturday, are scheduled to resume at noon today at Colonial Golfers Club.

The championship flight matches of Kaleb Kuhn against Austin Goodridge and Josh Hollar against Matt Smith will be the first groups off the tee.

They will be followed by the senior championship matches, the first flight, the second flight, the third flight, the senior open flight and the super senior flight.

Winners of the semifinals are scheduled to return to the course later in the afternoon for the championship round. Tee times for those finals will be determined Sunday.

Several other events in the area were affected by the weather, including the American Motorcycle Association Lima Half-Mile at the Allen County Fairgrounds.

Practice and qualifying for both the Harley-Davidson GNC1 presented by Vance & Hines and GNC2 classes will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m., with opening ceremonies set to begin at noon and heat races scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.

The Lima Locos’ game against Lake Erie at Simmons Field was postponed with no rescheduled date announced yet and Waynesfield Raceway Park called off its Saturday night races.
