Officials: Man’s body found in burning car in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (AP) — Officials say a man’s body was found in a burning car in Cleveland and had sustained multiple gunshots.

A Cleveland business owner tells cleveland.com he saw a man apparently asleep behind the wheel of a parked car Tuesday afternoon. About 15 minutes later a bus driver ran into his shop saying the car was ablaze.

The fire had been put out by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.

Firefighters found the body. Police are investigating his death as a homicide. The man hasn’t been identified.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to determine his cause of death.

The business owner says surveillance footage captured another man walking around his building that morning near where the car was parked. Police are looking at the video.
