State to send funding to fairs

COLUMBUS — Ohio announced grants to support fairgrounds throughout the state totaling $10 million, per an announcement from Gov. Mike DeWine, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, Department of Development director Lydia Mihalik and Department of Agriculture director Brian Baldridge.

All 94 county and independent fairs in the state applied for and received funding to the tune of $106,831.54, with two fairs requesting lower amounts.

The funding will support projects to improve facilities and accessibility, as well as signage.
