Boys Scouts changes to Scouting America

LIMA — The Boy Scouts of America announced a new name for the organization, Scouting America.

The goal of the change is to focus on “welcoming all youth” to enjoy and learn about scouting, according to a press release. The organization will continue to provide education and cultivate growth.

“We are excited to continue to welcome all youth into Scouting,” Scout Executive for the Black Swamp Area Council Marc Kogan said in the release. “Scouting makes youth prepared for life teaching today’s youth to become leaders of tomorrow.”

The change will officially take place on its 115th birthday, Feb. 8, 2025. For more information, visit Scouting.org.
