FORT JENNINGS — Teams of students from Fort Jennings High School placed second and fifth in the regional Envirothon contest Wednesday.
Thirty-one teams competed in the event at The Ohio State University-Lima and Rhodes State College campus, according to a press release from the Allen Soil and Water District, which hosted the competition.
Winners will advance to the state contest for a chance to compete at national Envirothon.
A team of students from Tinora High School came in first place Wednesday, followed by teams from Fort Jennings, Hicksville, Port Clinton and a second Fort Jennings team.
This is the first time Allen County has hosted the contest since the 1990s.
