WORTH Center to apply for opioid settlement funds

LIMA — The WORTH Center in Lima hopes to take advantage of funds made available through opioid lawsuit settlements to help promote mental health among those sent to that facility.

The WORTH Center will apply for a grant from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to purchase trauma-informed care work group materials. The materials consist of workbooks from the Hazelton Foundation, an organization connected with the Betty Ford Foundation, to help promote mental health.

The Allen County commissioners approved a resolution Thursday permitting the center to submit the application. Because of the broad geographic area that the WORTH Center serves, the center will also be submitting two other applications to the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to cover two other geographic regions created to distribute the grant funds.

“This will incorporate new evidence-based treatment at our facility,” WORTH Center Finance Director Adam Blevins said.
