Marysville Auto Plant produces 15 millionth vehicle

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Auto Plant has produced its 15 millionth vehicle. According to a recent press release, the plant has been open over 40 years and was the first Honda manufacturer in North America.

“The Marysville Auto Plant is ready to lead Honda’s transformation into BEV production,” MAP Plant Lead Mike Zindars said. “Being selected as the first Honda plant in North America to build a Honda electric vehicle is a testament to the capability of our associates and their ability to meet the needs of our customers.”

The release also states the company announced a $700 million investment in October of 2022 toward a battery plant.

“Congratulations to our associates at the Marysville Auto Plant on this significant milestone,” Senior Vice President at Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC Bob Schyn said in the release. “These same associates will now take Honda into the next chapter of our automotive history as the first Honda plant in North America to produce a battery electric vehicle.”
