St. Marys woman injured in multi-vehicle collision

MARYSVILLE — A St. Marys woman suffered minor injuries in a four-vehicle traffic accident Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 33 near Marysville.

The crash occurred on U.S. Route 33 near state Route 274 and involved two semi tractor-trailer rigs and two passenger cars.

Reports show a 2014 Toyota Corolla operated by Donald Penrose, 65, of Lakeview, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 33 and was closely followed by a 2016 Freightliner operated by Travis Heath, 35, of Union Point, Georgia.

A 2012 Acura TL operated by Nicole Blank, 46, of St. Marys, was also traveling eastbound on U.S. 33 behind Heath, while a 2009 Kenworth semi operated by Aaron Miller, 28, of Payne, was traveling westbound.

Penrose reportedly crossed the center line and struck the semi operated by Miller, which was also struck by the semi operated by Heath and Blank’s vehicle.

Penrose was transported to by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Heath was transported by ground ambulance to Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine with non-life-threatening injuries. Blanks and Miller were treated and released at the scene.
