Lima Memorial surgeon surpasses 100 LINX Reflux procedures

LIMA — Dr. Jeremy Heffner, general surgeon at Lima Memorial Health System, has recently performed more than 100 LINX Reflux Management System procedures. According to a recent press release, Heffner’s monumental achievement places the medical center as one of the top five in the Midwest to have completed 100 LINX procedures in less than three years.

The LINX process involves placing small magnetic beads around the esophagus to combat acid rising. Patients are expected to go home within 24 hours of this procedure which typically takes less than an hour.

“It’s truly an honor to work with such a dedicated team in serving our patients,” Heffner said. “This milestone not only reflects our dedication to enhancing the well-being of our community but also highlights the importance of providing advanced procedures like this at a local level. I’m proud to be part of a team that continually makes a positive impact on the health of the greater Lima region.”
