LIMA — Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith announced two awardees of the Lima Creates Program on Wednesday.
Spoken word artist Courtney Owens and local composer Samantha Ezell will be the first awardees for the program, which supports artists and helps them create work to elevate their careers and develop their craft.
Owens will present an original piece at the Mayor’s State of the City Address at 6 p.m. March 20 at the Lima Senior High School auditorium.
Ezell’s piece in tribute to the upcoming solar eclipse, “Hidden Star,” will premier at the Lima Area Youth Orchestra concert at 4 p.m. March 24 at the same venue.
