Lima Senior students advance to international DECA

LIMA — Fifteen Lima Senior High School students will travel to Anaheim, Calif., in April to compete in the DECA international competition, the high school announced via press release Monday.

The high school sent more than 60 students to Columbus this past weekend for the state finals; nearly 30 of those Lima Senior students earned a spot in the top 10 while 15 advanced to the international round.

Results from the weekend:

1st Place — Business Solutions Project Management: Nick Fosnaugh, Ar’iana Custer and Victoria Holbrook-Phillips

3rd Place — Business Start Up: Kansas Mayes, Brionna Howard and Zaveon Garner

4th Place — Community Giving Project Management: Leaven Johnson, Tia Ward and Leenell Hogan

Gold Certification — School Based Enterprise, Spartan Higher Grounds: Kaitlyn Thompson and Christian Ackerman

Thrive Certification — Lima DECA I: Davyon Williamson

Thrive Certification — Lima DECA II: Aliyana Coppler and Chase Hipsher
