LIMA — Ten Thousand Villages has announced Beth Boehr is the artist of the month. According to a recent press release, the community is invited to watch the artist complete a Celtic knot paper cutting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, at Ten Thousand Villages, 115 S. Main St., Bluffton.
“I have always been a calligrapher and while teaching Celtic knot designs that were transferred to linoleum blocks with my 8th-graders in 2001, I started to play with cutting some knot designs out of paper,” Boehr said in a recent press release. “The strands of the knot began to look like ribbons, overlapping and entwined, so I thought, why not weave calligraphy words into the knot? The design starts with 1/4 paper that then gets pivoted 90 degrees and repeated.”
The release also states the work is now available for viewing at Ten Thousand Villages.
