CELINA — Celina Insurance Group pledged $100,000 to the Mercer County Fairgrounds for the Grand Event Center, the fair board announced via press release Wednesday.
The event center will provide 100,000 square feet of space for livestock shows, concerts, tractor pulls and other events, according to the release.
“Mercer County offers folks a thriving place to live, work and play,” Bill Montgomery, president and CEO of Celina Insurance Group, said in the release. “That doesn’t happen by accident — it takes effort and commitment from the businesses, organizations and individuals who call the area home. The Grand Event Center will be an asset to our community for years to come, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
Fundraisers have raised $4 million toward the project to date.
