OSU-Lima’s Starr wins teaching award

LIMA — The Ohio State University honored OSU-Lima senior lecturer Dawn Starr with the provost’s award for distinguished teaching by a lecturer Thursday.

Starr has taught philosophy, ethics and logic for OSU-Lima since 2008.

The provost’s award recognizes a maximum of six lecturers and other faculty members across OSU campuses for their teaching excellence. Starr joins fellow OSU-Lima lecturers Ruth Kinder and Anthony Shoup in the distinction.

Professors are nominated by students, faculty, staff and alumni. A committee selects each year’s honorees, who receive a $5,000 honorarium from the Office of Academic Affairs.
