UNOH students headed to Super Bowl LVIII

LAS VEGAS — Eleven University of Northwestern Ohio sport marketing and management students are headed to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII.

The students will volunteer at the Super Bowl Experience, an interactive pro-football theme park at the Mandalay Bay South Convention Center in Las Vegas, and assist with hospitality events outside Allegiant Stadium on game day through an internship with the city’s Super Bowl host committee.

“I want them to see what goes into executing a huge event like this, to be able to experience it first-hand and gain experience on a large-scale setting like the Super Bowl,” Professor Julia Etzkorn said in a press release about the internship.

“The best part is that they will be able to make connections here that could help them obtain jobs within the sports industry when they graduate,” Etzkorn said. “This year’s group of students are more excited than ever to experience the Super Bowl in person.”

Students leave for Las Vegas on Wednesday, Feb. 7, and will return the following Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Participating students include Anna Ankey, Anika Burke, Tess Denning, Derek Fisher, Carlie Hanes, Corrin Howard, Zoe Johnson, Dani Keighley, Will Roberson, Logan Rolfes and Logan Schimmoeller.

Professors Etzkorn and Phil Gunder will travel with the students to Las Vegas.
