Lima holds second budget meeting

LIMA — The Lima finance committee had its second budget meeting for the new year Wednesday night.

The meeting saw the Lima Police Department, the Lima Fire Department and the Public Works Department sharing their 2023 budgets and making their requests for 2024.

Lima Police Department Chief Angel Cortes reported a $10,941,211 budget and requested $12,910,526 for 2024.

Lima Fire Department Chief Andy Heffner reported a $9,858,784 budget for 2023 and requested $10,983,135.

Public Works Director Kirk Niemeyer reported a budget of $10,540,550 and requested $13,127,443 for 2024.

The city will hold its final budget meeting Thursday. The meeting will offer a public hearing.
