LIMA — Activate Allen County is now accepting applications from local childcare agencies. The organization has partnered with Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center to help bring health and wellness to children through this program. According to a recent press release, the program will award three childcare providers with funding up to $500. The money will aid each organization in improving health at its facility.
“We provide technical assistance and funding to support a project,” Josh Unterbrink said. “Childcare centers come up with their own idea of what they want to be funded. It may be some equipment to support physical activity or puppets for behavioral health interactions to talk about emotions — Childcare is expensive to run and pay for so we just provide a little bit of extra assistance and support.”
