Block party and health fair coming Aug. 5

LIMA — In preparation for back-to-school, the South Lima Community Development Corporation is hosting a block party and health fair.

“We wanted to give back to the community and provide school uniforms,” Vice President SLCDC Sheri Gary said. “We wanted to be able to provide school uniforms, as well as give parents an opportunity to have a free health screening. (Community members) can get their blood pressure checked and get checked for diabetes as well as have a fun day with free food.”

Gary also said there will be bouncy houses, line dancing and much more. The health fair will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 190 E. Eighth St.
