Cridersville, Beaverdam to see electric vehicle charging stations

COLUMBUS — Electric vehicle charging stations are coming to Cridersville and Beaverdam.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is installing 27 charging stations along seven of the state’s interstate corridors, including the Lincoln Highway exit off I-75 in Beaverdam and the National Road exit off I-75 in Cridersville. The stations, which will include at least four 150-kilowatt charging ports available 24 hours a day, will be located at 50-mile intervals no more than a mile away from the interstate.

“This is an exciting time for Ohio as we continue to lead the charge in electric mobility,” Gov. Mike DeWine said in a statement. “As more Ohioans purchase EVs, this statewide network of chargers will ensure that our transportation infrastructure is prepared to accommodate these drivers, as well as visitors who travel to Ohio to see all that our great state has to offer.”

ODOT estimates there are already 53,000 registered electric vehicles in Ohio.
