Lima schools name “Outstanding 11” for 2022-2023 school year

LIMA — Lima schools recognized teachers nominated for their excellent service to students during Monday’s school board meeting at South Science and Technology Magnet School.

The “Outstanding 11” is an award program in which one staff member from each building in the district is nominated by peers for their work to motivate and educate students with such qualities as enthusiasm, compassion, humor and creativity, among others. Lima schools has been giving these awards since 2011, inspired by a visit from Ron Clark, a nationally-known educator.

The “Outstanding 11” for this school year are:

• Angela Meyer, Freedom Elementary

• Nicole Lanning, Heritage Elementary

• Amanda Johnson, Independence Elementary

• Tamara Slaise, Unity Elementary

• Jody Webb, Unity Elementary

• Sydney Mault, North Middle School

• Barbara Coffey, West Middle School

• Marcia Barnett, Liberty Arts Magnet

• Brandi Lisi, South Science and Technology Magnet

• Robert “Shane” Doyle, Lima Senior Alternative School

• Megan Long, Lima Senior High School

The district presented an additional award to school psychologist Kyra Cobb for “Oustanding Service to the Lima City Schools.”
