LIMA — ‘The Conversation’ play will be shown at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 at the Encore Theater, 991 N. Shore Dr. The play portrays an imagined discussion between the late Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.
“Most people think that Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King did not get along but they did,” said Sixth Ward Council Member Dr. Derry Glenn. “It is exciting. All the proceeds are going towards our ‘Neighbors helping Neighbors’ program.”
Reverend Dr. John McCants will portray Dr. Martin Luther King. He weighed in on the upcoming event.
“It is a wonderful piece we are excited to get the young people here so they can learn about two of our historic heroes,” said McCants. “Especially young men and they can learn what manhood is all about. To also understand and enjoy the freedoms they have and the price that was paid for it.”
Admission is $10 per person.
