Van Wert Ag Society to renovate fairground roadways

VAN WERT — The Van Wert County Agricultural Society announced the complete renovation of the roadways through the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.

In a release, the society thanked the county commissioners for making $200,000 from the COVID Assistance Fund available for the project.

“These funds will help us repave some of our roads that lead traffic around the perimeter of the grounds,” Fair Manager Mike Poling said in the statement. “For us to repave everything in Phase 1, we will need to raise an additional $100,000.”

Donors wishing to help fund the Pave The Way campaign, which was established to help community members fund roadway renovation on the fairgrounds with tax-deductible donations, can send increments of $250 to the agricultural society in exchange for a chance to win lifetime season passes to the fair.

The first phase of the project will start in May and be completed by June.
