‘A Night in Seussville

The Ohio State Beauty Academy is ready to whisk audiences away to the world of Dr. Seuss at its student talent showcase, “A Night in Seussville” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the UNOH Event Center, 1450 N. Cable Road, Lima. More than 40 students will participate in the event as models showing off hairstyle creations that are only limited by the imaginations of the students themselves. Doors open at 6 p.m. and admission is free.

‘The Simon & Garfunkel Story’

7:30 p.m. Thursday

Rediscover the unforgettable music of the legendary musical duo Simon & Garfunkel at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lima’s Veterans Memorial Civic Center. The event is being promoted as an immersive concert-style theater show taking the audience on a journey through the music and history of Simon & Garfunkel. Max’s Mini Swap Meet

Noon to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday

Enjoy Max’s Trader Days and Water Dog Races? You do not have to wait for the summer, as Max’s Mini Swap will bring a taste of that wide variety of vendors back to the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2750 Harding Highway, Lima. The event will run from noon to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and admission is $5.

Grand Lake Area Literature Festival

9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday

Book lovers will want to take a trip south to Celina this weekend. The Grant Lake Area Literature Festival will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tri Star Career Compact, 7655 state Route 703, Celina. 20 authors will be present. Book signings and free crafts and activities for children will take place. The Grand Lake Area Reading Excellence Awards will be presented.

Josh Morningstar in Concert

7 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday

Up-and-coming country music artist and songwriter Josh Morningstar will be holding a two-night concert event Saturday and Sunday at Route 33 Rhythm and Brews, 9891 county Road 33A, Wapakoneta. The Maryland native has shared the stage with artists like Shooter Jenkins, Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers, and he was named the 2018 Texas Radio Songwriter of the Year.
