Drinks with the Director

5:30 p.m. today

Friends of the Allen County Museum are invited to Drinks with the Director at 5:30 p.m. today at the museum, 620 W. Market St., Lima. Attendees will get a special preview of the installation of new paintings as director Amy Craft Klassen will share more about the paintings and the artists during a lecture. To reserve a spot, call 419-222-9426 or email [email protected]. The installation of the paintings will be open to the public at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Open Jam at the Elks

7 to 10 p.m. today

The Greater Allen County Blues Society’s Open Jam is back at the Lima Elks Lodge, 302 W. North St., Lima. Running from 7-10 p.m. the third Thursday of each month through June, the event will feature music to satisfy any fan of blues music along with MC Billy Elvis and music by house band The Brad Allen Jones Band.

Enjoy all the heartwarming moments from one of Broadway’s best-known musicals in this youth production conducted by Van Wert Civic Theatre in collaboration with Van Wert Live. Annual Fireman’s Dance

9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday

Join the Spencerville Invincible Fire Department at its annual dance starting at 9 p.m. at the VFW Post 6772, 130 S. Broadway St., Spencerville. Get your toes tapping with music by Dueces Wild and The Rednecks, along with raffles and drawings. Tickets are $8 and the event is open to the public.

Groupie Movie Series

3 p.m. Sunday

Take the family out to the movies Sunday at Veterans Memorial Civic Center, 7 Town Square, Lima. Enjoy the fun and adventure of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” on a 60-foot movie screen. Admission is $5 and cash concessions and drinks will be available.
