Planning Commission announces holiday overtime enforcement

LIMA —The Lima/Allen County Regional Planning Commission announced that as of Dec. 16 through the new year, federal, state and local law enforcement will be working overtime to enforce impaired driving laws and Allen County law enforcement agencies will be no exception.

More than 10,000 people are killed each year in drunk-driving crashes and many occur during the holiday season.

The Planning Commission is asking residents to prevent them by choosing a designated driver, using transit, holding impaired friends’ keys if they are about to drink and drive, reporting impaired drivers to law enforcement and always buckling up.
