Gibson named Lima Post Trooper of the Year

LIMA — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kenton Gibson was named Lima Post Trooper of the Year, the agency announced Friday.

Gibson, 32, was recognized for “oustanding service in 2022,” and was selcted by fellow troopers for his leadership abilities, porfessional ethics, treatment of others, work enthusiasm and his cooperation with supervisors, coworkers and the public, according to a media release.

Because of his selection, Gibson is in the running for District and State Trooper of the Year, which the release said will be announced at a later date.

According to the release, Gibson joined the Lima Post of the Highway Patrol in 2016. He is from Lima and graduated from Temple Christian High School before attending the Ohio State University.

Gibson received the Criminal Patrol Ribbon three times, as well as the Safe Driving, Fitness and Traffic Safety Ribbons, according to the release.
