SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Shawnee Township Police Department hopes to improve weapons accuracy with a grant from the Marathon Corporation’s Community Investment Program.
According to a press release, the grant totals $5,000 and will be used to purchase Trijicon Red Dot Optics to improve aim for each officer’s weapon.
The optics are part of a “growing trend” in law enforcement and, according to the release, several studies have shown better performance and “enhanced accuracy” with their use.
