MARIA STEIN — Local artist Shega will get the chance to see whether she wins multiple KMA Music Awards this November.
The Mercer County artist, originally from Haiti, was nominated for Best Female Voice and Best Female Artist in the Toronto-based ceremony which recognizes Afro musicians living in North America.
Fans can now vote online at the KMA Awards website or Facebook page until Nov. 17. The fan vote will count for 40% of the judging and a special jury of tv/radio hosts, DJs and music programmers will cast final decisions.
Shega, also known as Annette Huelskamp, has been living in Ohio since 2010 and also works as a local nurse.
