Manchester thrilled to see GOP Victory Center open

LIMA — The Allen County Republican Party hosted a grand opening of its Victory Center on Thursday. Party members opened the doors to prepare for the upcoming election on Nov. 8.

Special guest 84th District Ohio House of Representative Susan Manchester spoke to the party at the grand opening. Manchester will run unopposed for the 78th District Ohio House of Representatives. Following redistricting in Ohio, Manchester will transition from representing Mercer, Darke, Shelby and south of Auglaize County to Allen and north of Auglaize County.

The Victory Center has opened in various locations on Elida Road. The Republican Party has now opened the center in a space next to Fast Signs. They will host multiple events including a gathering on election night. Republican Chairman Keith Cheney will inform community members when the events will take place.

Cheney acknowledged the state, federal and local candidates for the upcoming election. Allen County candidates Commissioner Brian Winegardner (R), Judge Jeffrey Reed (R), Auditor Rachael Gilroy (R), Clerk of Courts Jennifer McBride (R) and Treasurer Krista Bohn (R) were present for the grand opening.

Manchester weighed in on the Victory Center.

“I actually got restarted back in Ohio right at the Allen County Victory Center in 2016,” said Manchester. “Being here feels like coming home. I am thrilled to see this Victory Center open. The chairman does a fantastic job getting things cleaned up and ready. I am excited for another great election season ahead of us.”

Cheney encouraged community members to stop by the center with their families.

“Now that the center is open,” said Cheney, “make sure you encourage your family and friends to stop in. When I got here this morning, a couple of volunteers were already here working.”

The Republican Party is looking for additional volunteers to help the center until election day. Community members are welcome to visit the center to register to volunteer. The Victory Center is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information call 419-331-5655 or email [email protected].
