Kessler Estates celebrates opening

LIMA — During the break between rain showers, Kessler Estates Senior Living had a ribbon cutting at 2075 N. Eastown Road. It was scheduled to coincide with the beginning of National Assisted Living Week, which was established in 1995 to provide unique opportunities for residents, their loved ones, and staff, to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors.

Sajy Wisener, community resource director at Kessler Estates said, “We’re an assisted living community. We’re a stand-alone assisted living facility, so we’re not attached to a nursing home. We’re a smaller community in the Lima area.”

New owner Sinceri Home created quite a bit of transition. There were COVID precautions. The CDC guidelines prevented having any kind of gathering. So the ribbon cutting was delayed.

Wisener said, “One of the biggest things we see here and one of the main reasons people move into assisted living is for socialization purposes. Covid did a really good number on a lot of us. It taught us to stay home. People then started to realize that we really missed people. We need people and we need that socialization. It really does help the residents thrive when they’re in a big group.”

Kessler Estates Senior Living believes that every individual requires different levels of care at varying points in their lives. The staff provides specialized care specifically tailored to each resident’s unique needs throughout the aging experience.
