Lima hospitals earn high-performance marks from US News & World Report

LIMA — Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima Memorial Health System were rated as high-performing hospitals for certain specialties, conditions and procedures in the latest U.S. News & World Report hospital rankings.

The rankings evaluated 4,500 hospitals for their performance across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions, like cancer care, geriatrics and cardiology.

St. Rita’s earned a high-performance rating in urology, as well as its care for heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, stroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Lima Memorial earned high performance ratings in four adult procedures and conditions, including care provided for heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure and COPD.

Both hospitals earned three out of five stars for patient experience, based on surveys taken after patients were discharged.
