DeWine expands PIPP eligibility

COLUMBUS — Governor Mike DeWine signed an executive order Thursday afternoon that approves an expansion of the Utility Assistance Program. The Ohio Department of Development is now in partnership with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to carry out this new action. The partnership changed the financial threshold for Ohioans in the Percentage of Income Payment Plan.

This program helps assist Ohioans in paying their energy bills. The threshold has increased from 150 percent of the federal poverty level to 175 percent.

“By expanding eligibility for utility assistance programs more Ohioans will get the help they need to pay their bills and keep their homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter,” said DeWine.
