Summer Crisis Program underway for electric bill assistance

LIMA — The Summer Crisis program began on July 1 to help eligible Ohioans stay cool during the summer. The Ohio Department of Development and West Ohio Community Action Partnership created this program to provide electric bill assistance or assistance paying for central air conditioning repairs.

Those eligible can apply for this program by calling WOCAP and scheduling an appointment.

Once scheduled you must bring a copy of your most recent energy bill, a list of all household members and proof of income for the last 30 days or 12 months for each member, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency for all household members, proof of disability (if applicable) and physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for a members health if anyone is above age 60.
