An ozone alert has been issued for Allen County for Friday, July 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the alert period, residents are encouraged to take voluntary actions to reduce ozone production, including:
● Riding to work or school with friends
● Walking or riding a bike on shorter trips
● Parking vehicles in shaded areas
● Delaying lawn mowing until after the alert expires
● Fueling vehicles early in the morning or after 6 p.m.
● Avoiding cooking out over charcoal during the alert period
Ozone alerts are issued jointly by the Allen County Health Department and the Allen County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
