Glenn seeking air conditioners for elderly

LIMA — Sixth Ward Councilor Derry Glenn is asking for donations to help provide air conditioners to area residents in need to help fight the summer heat.

“We have over 80 elderly people who are looking for air conditioning, and we’re asking for everyone to show their hometown pride by donating used or new air conditioners,” he said.

Glenn said he has been flooded with requests from local residents who need air conditioning, and his goal is to collect 150 units to help meet the demand. Monetary donations are also accepted.

He also wanted to remind people to check up on their elderly neighbors in the coming months, especially on hot summer days.

Those who want to help can donate either used or new units by contacting Glenn at 419-905-9572. He has offered to pick up any donated units. Monetary donations can be sent to the Community Action Program, P.O. Box 5351, Lima, OH 45802.
