Armstrong mural, work in progress

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta can’t get enough of its favorite son Neil Armstrong. He’s got a museum named after him and now, 51 years after the Wapakoneta native took his first steps on the moon, his likeness will be part of a large mural that will go up on U.S. Route 33 east of Wapakoneta on the property of Bill and Marty Shaw.

Artist John Cerney has already begun work on the mural, which will be installed sometime in the fall.
