LIMA – Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Terri Kohlrieser has disavowed in the strongest possible terms comments made in her name that were attached two years ago to a racially-charged YouTube video featuring obscenities and the use of the N-word, along with images that depict slavery.
A narrator of the video says the disturbing content was recorded in Redding, California. The accompanying text says the video was posted by With a Roof, a human rights advocacy group.
“You are about to experience the most graphic demonstration of racism we have yet encountered on the streets as a young mother and friends hoot and holler to the most vile song of hate and malice, all while a child sits in her lap and another plays nearby. Racism is anything but dead, it’s alive and thriving among us,” according to the post’s author.
The narrator himself described the video as “disturbing” as it starts with a recording with the lines “America for whites, Africa for blacks” and shows depictions of slaves throughout.
Kohlrieser could barely contain her disgust when informed her name had been linked to the video.
“Today it was brought to my attention that a comment on social media had been made under my name a couple of years ago,” the judge said in a prepared statement. “An unknown individual created a fictional social media account in my name, using a photo of me that was readily accessible from the internet, and posted an incendiary comment.
“This comment was not from me, this social media account/page is not mine, and the views expressed in that comment are not mine,” Kohlrieser said. “A report of the fraudulent use of my identity has been made to the proper authorities and action is being taken with the social media platform involved.”
The group that posted the video displays a message near the end of the clip that reads, “racism is hate, racism is wrong; racism exists, I pray that it be gone.”
