Woman accused of shoplifting located hiding beneath newspaper truck

LIMA — A woman who police say had taken part in a robbery at Menards on the west edge of Lima was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after she was found hiding beneath a truck on property owned by The Lima News.

No information was immediately available on the incident.

Officers from the American Township Police Department, the Elida Police Department and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office converged at the newspaper’s location at 3515 Elida Road shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday following the report from employees at Menards that a woman had left the store on foot following a reported theft or attempted theft.

A woman, whose name was not available, was taken into custody by American Township officers after she was discovered lying under a box truck at the newspaper office.
