LIMA — The Husky Lima Refinery will be undertaking the final stages of the Crude Oil Flexibility Project beginning Friday afternoon. As a result, residents may notice increased flaring and additional noises coming from the plant starting on Friday and continuing through the weekend.
Normal operations are expected to resume next week.
The Crude Oil Flexibility project allows the refinery to process 40,000 bbls/day of heavy crude oil — a quadrupling of current output.
