Mercer County man jailed on drug charges

CELINA — A rural Rockford man was taken into custody Friday as the result of a Grand Lake Task Force drug sweep.

Johnathan R. Dooley, 29, was arrested following the task force raid at 9219 Township Line Road in Mercer County.

According to a statement from Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey, investigators with the task force were requested to assist the Ohio Adult Parole Authority at the rural Rockford residence. While inside the home, investigators reportedly observed a tray of suspected marijuana, along with a baggy of suspected heroin, in plain sight in the living room. Task force investigators subsequently applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence. During the execution of that search warrant, investigators seized suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, syringes and other assorted drug paraphernalia, according to Grey.

Dooley was arrested for a parole violation and other charges against him are pending upon review from Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Grey said.
